Extra Care bridges the gap between independent living and residential care. It allows older adults or individuals with support needs to continue living independently in their own self-contained homes, while benefiting from a safe, supporting environment.

With a 24-hour emergency support service, residents at Maes y Môr benefit from a consistent on-site presence, enabling a proactive and preventative approach. This allows us to continually assess each individual’s needs and requirements and allows for tailored interventions supporting residents to live full, empowered lives with dignity and choice. 

In addition to the availability of on-site care provision, residents also benefit from the dedicated support of our Community Inclusion Manager, whose role is central to enhancing wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. By facilitating meaningful activities and events, promoting social connection, and working closely with residents to understand what matters most to them, the Community Inclusion Manager plays a vital part in reducing isolation and supporting residents to live with independence, purpose, and a sense of belonging.
