What does Extra Care look like at Maes Y Môr?
Extra Care enables individuals to live independently within a community that offers access to care and support, providing the reassurance of a safe and inclusive environment while promoting freedom of choice, control, and independence.
Commissioned by Ceredigion County Council, Gofal Ystwyth Care provides the scheme’s 24-hour emergency response service, ensuring emergency support is available at all times.
Care within the scheme is delivered on-site by Gofal Ystwyth Care and includes both Ceredigion County Council–commissioned and privately arranged care. Support is delivered through a person-centred approach, tailored to the individual to ensure independence, choice, and control remain central to life at Maes y Môr.
Alongside the availability of on-site care, residents also benefit from the support of a dedicated Wellbeing Officer, whose role is central to enhancing wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. By facilitating meaningful activities and events, promoting social connection, and working closely with residents to understand what matters most to them, the Wellbeing Officer plays a vital part in reducing isolation and supporting residents to live with independence, purpose, and a sense of belonging.
